Jakarta, March 7, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (FE UNJ) hosted a two-day workshop on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) on Thursday and Friday, March 7-8, 2024. The workshop took place at the Computer Laboratory on the 3rd floor of Building M, FE UNJ. Dr. Aslam Mia from Universiti Sains Malaysia was the guest speaker for the workshop.

DEA is a method used in operations management and economics to measure the efficiency of decision-making units (e.g., firms, organizations) by comparing inputs and outputs. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of DEA and its practical applications.

The workshop was open to both faculty members and students of FE UNJ. Participants had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Aslam Mia’s expertise and engage in hands-on exercises to apply DEA in real-world scenarios.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Aslam Mia from Universiti Sains Malaysia as our guest speaker for this workshop,” said Ervina Maulida, the coordinator of the workshop. “DEA is a valuable tool for analyzing efficiency and productivity, and we believe that this workshop will enhance the knowledge and skills of our participants in this area.”

In summary, the collaboration between Universitas Negeri Jakarta and Universiti Sains Malaysia through this workshop signifies a strong commitment to academic excellence and knowledge sharing. It is through such collaborative efforts that we can enhance our understanding and application of DEA, ultimately contributing to the advancement of research and education in our respective institutions. We look forward to further opportunities for collaboration and exchange between our universities in the future.
