Benchmarking Curriculum Collaboration Between Faculty of Economics Universitas Negeri Jakarta and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

Jakarta, June 6, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), and the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) and Graduate School of Business (GBS) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) successfully conducted a benchmarking curriculum meeting on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The event was held virtually via Zoom in two sessions, at 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM Malaysia time, to accommodate participants’ schedules.

The benchmarking involved several programs from both institutions, including the Master of Management, Master of Accounting, Master of Economics Education, and Bachelor of Economics Education from UNJ, and the Faculty of Economics and Management and Graduate School of Business from UKM. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is a renowned university in Malaysia, known for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation in education, research, and community service.

Representatives from FEM UKM who attended the meeting included Prof. Muhammad Hakimi Mohd Shafiai, Prof. Soliha Sanusi, and Prof. Mohd Hasimi Yaacob. From GBS UKM, the following representatives participated were Dr. Ahmad Raflis Che Omar, Deputy Dean ofNetwork and Generation and Mr. Aminuddin Mahmud. From FE UNJ, all the head of study programs mentioned above fully attended the meeting along with several lecturers from each study program.

This benchmarking initiative aimed to enhance the quality of academic programs through shared insights and experiences, ensuring the curriculum meets international standards and addresses current market needs. The collaboration provided an excellent platform for faculty members to exchange best practices, discuss innovative teaching methodologies, and explore opportunities for future collaborations.

By comparing and analyzing different curriculum structures, both institutions can identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring their programs are up-to-date and relevant. Faculty members also gained valuable insights into the educational strategies and practices of their counterparts, promoting mutual learning and professional development.

We are confident that this benchmarking initiative will significantly contribute to the continuous improvement of our academic programs and further strengthen the relationship between Universitas Negeri Jakarta and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, paving the way for future partnerships in research, student exchange programs, and joint academic initiatives.
